Coronavirus Update

23rd March 2020

As the coronavirus pandemic unfolds in the UK, our main priority is ensuring the safety of everyone who comes to our food bank – whether it’s someone needing help, someone volunteering their time, or someone making a donation.

Things are changing quickly, so we’ll keep this page updated regularly with information about what’s happening at Scunthorpe Foodbank and how people can access support and help us be there for people in crisis.

We’re still supporting people with emergency food but we’re running a reduced service due to
measures put in place to slow the spread of infection. We are still open on the regular days at all our centres but we have extended the opening hours from 11am-3pm on these days to avoid spreading the infection. If anyone needs help the majority of our referral agencies are still working but will only be able to issue vouchers over the phone.. If anything changes, we’ll let you know immediately. Your support is vital at this time, so if you’re considering donating, we’re particularly in need of:

  • Tinned Cold Meat
  • Custard
  • Tinned Potatoes
  • UHT Milk
  • Tinned Tomatoes

You can also give financially to the Trussell Trust Foodbank Network here: https://www.trusselltrust.org/get-involved/ways-to-give/make-a-one-off-donation/
